Tijs Maessen
Industrial Design student
A proud Eindhovenaar, always seeking to learn new ways to create meaningful artifacts and experiences
Who am I?
I am a hands-on designer who learns by doing. Throughout my studies at TU/e Industrial Design, I’ve developed my own way of working: Creation Guided Decision Making: exploring ideas by creating, experimenting, and reflecting in real time. Through creation, I enjoy actively discovering new opportunities as they emerge.
My work often focuses on meaningful, everyday challenges like sustainability, behavior change, and interaction design. I aim to design concepts that not only work, but engage people purposefully, offering rich experiences that feel intuitive, enjoyable, and relevant in daily life.
Outside of school projects, I’m always curious to try new things, whether it’s building prototypes, repairing cars, woodworking, cooking, or making music. For me, learning and making go hand in hand.
